Gracie See Pizzeria
This blog is about the things that I love. I love my family. And I also love the city of Detroit. Today's blog combines both. My husband's family owns a pizzeria in Detroit in the Warrendale neighborhood. It was opened by his grandfather in 1969 and he named it after his daughter (my mother-in-law). And now she's the owner, along with her brother. It's a fantastic place, filled with original decor plus new and exciting additions. The only thing better than the food are the regulars. People who have made the Gracie See Pizzeria family a part of their own family.
Speaking of the food. The pizza is what turns a customer into a regular. Everything is handmade. It takes skill, patience, experience, and pride to make a Gracie's pie. And the ones that can actually do it, do it very well. It's what separates them from everyone else. They use great ingredients, stick to what has worked since pizza was invented and they see every pizza a work of art.
But for me there is an even bigger advantage than free pizza. It's a place my children will grow up knowing. It will be their first job. They will learn about work ethic, money, people, and so on. But most importantly they will learn how to cook. They will make the same recipes made by their great grandparents. The same recipes that made Detroit fall in love with the little pizzeria in Warrendale.
Now that's a pretty impressive legacy if you ask me.

Attempting to be "girly"
Hello Hello again!
After being pregnant and taking care of two very young children all day, I sometimes find it challenging to find ways to make myself feel...well, good. It's not that I feel bad. But I hardly ever feel like "me". I feel like a mom, a wife, an employee, a maid, and so on. I was never into fashion and makeup when I was growing up and I never really will be. It's just not who I am. I've never been overly concerned or interested in my looks. I want to look good but I don't want to spend a lot of time getting there. As if I have any.
But now that my body has been through things that would make most people shudder, I try to find ways to feel pretty. Simple things like wearing earrings, painting my nails, and wearing mascara. Nothing crazy or time consuming but it has been working.
Maybe one day I can make it to the "wearing real pants" part of fashion. But I'm in no hurry.
Until next time!

Love
Hello again!
I hope that your Valentine's Day wasn't too horrific, if not down right enjoyable. Mine went well. Way too much chocolate but perfectly cliche. I don't know why, but on Valentine's Day I am only into the typical cheesy gifts you can pick at your local Rite Aid. Or CVS if you're feeling fancy. But I did plan ahead and splurge on Joe. Chocolate covered strawberries from Edible Arrangements. There is just something so magical about Edible Arrangements. It's like the fruit version of Disney World. On a unicorn.
Speaking of love. I sat down to do some computer work and was struck by how much I love my surroundings. What is your favorite space in your home?
On a side note, I have uploaded more videos on my YouTube Channel. You can check them out on my Google+ page by clicking on my picture.
